Z’s Defence Academy’s aim is to make a difference in the community, and we are involved with different charities/ projects.

St Stephens School – January 2020

We conducted a self defence workshop at St Stephens School for the ladies which went very well. We teamed up with an organisation called Face who offer different services to the public.

Bangor Street Community Centre– January 2020

We have conducted of first 2020 project at Bangor Street Community Centre with One Voice. They aspire to create an inclusive, cohesive and vibrant community in Blackburn with Darwen

Witton Park Arena – 8th Dec 2019

We completed a 4-hour Self-Defence Workshop which was very successful. The girls had gained a lot of confidence and learn life skills

Olive School Blackburn – 11th Nov 2019

A great 2-hour Self-Defence session at Olive school teaching the younger scouts how to defend. They were very excited to get involved in a full-on fitness session and were sure they would have burnt some calories

Blackburn & Darwen Council – 3rd October 2019

We offered a free taster session at the local council for their inclusion week. They had different fun and creative activities for their staff to get involved in. This was a great opportunity to teach women form various different backgrounds

Humraaz – 7th Oct 2019

We successfully completed a second 4-week self-defence course with an organisation called Humraaz. They help women who have been affected by domestic abuse. They support women to move from crisis to safety and independence

Jinnah Centre – 17th Sept 19

We successfully completed a 8-week Self-Defence with the teenagers within Burnley area. All girls really enjoyed learning how to defend themselves and built their confidence

Pendle Community High School & college – 16th Sept 2019

We had the opportunity to network with many other organisations, talking about different charities and how we can help each other grow. Many students got involved in talking about their carer progression and what they need to do to complete their aims

Darwen Vale High School – 9th Sept 2019

We presented as session at Darwen vale high school as they are looking for different business/organisations to get involved. They want students to get creative with business ideas and receive support from different businesses.  We delivered a presentation on how Z’s Defence Academy was developed and advised on business planning

Taheedul Islam Girls High School– 3rd Sept 2019

A great session at TIGHS school given a presentation on confidence building and importance of Self-Defence. The students and staff were very impressed on Zee’s level of experience/qualification in Mixed Martial Arts.

Blackburn CVS – 12th July 2019

We completed a 1-day workshop with community CVS who offer support and resource to different community projects

We conducted a taster session at Blackburn Hospital (NHS) in their inclusion week. They had all different activities to promote health and wellbeing for the staff. This was a great success as being part of such a large organisation and showing how inclusive we are

Accrington Road Community Centre – 5th July 2019

We conducted a 4-week self-defence course at Accrington road community centre. We had a mixture of ages within the group and ladies were very keen to learn

Darus-Salam Education Centre – 28th April 2019

We conducted a 6 weeks Teens self-defence course at Darussalam Education centre. The centre is not only a Mosque but also a Community centre to bring the community together.
